Bunch Berry - The Fastest Plant in the World

Bunch Berry - Cornus canadensis
Bunch Berry, the fastest plant in the world.  It's tiny flowers are like little trebuchets that fling pollen at incredible speeds when triggered by an insect or wind; you need a camera that can take 10,000 frames per second to capture the process on film.  Very interesting, but what I think is more interesting is why would this particular plant have such an unusual method for dispersing it's pollen.
